Single lit candleAll Souls Service – Commemoration of the Departed

Sunday 3 November at 4.00pm, Christ Church Radyr

You are all invited to come and light a candle as we gather to remember our loved ones. Refreshments after the service.

Remembrance events


The Parish will be taking part in the annual community event at the war memorial in the square in Radyr on Sunday 10 November 2019 alongside other community groups. This event will start with a procession from Christ Church at 10:30 and the ceremony around the memorial begins at 10:35.

This will be followed by the community Remembrance Service in Christ Church just after 11:00

Concerts@ChristChurchDouble Bass

The Parish is starting a series of concerts involving the local schools and professional musicians, and in support of local charities.  The first concert, involving double bass player Connie Francis and three Primary Schools – Danescourt, Bryn Deri and Park Road – is on Friday, 15th November in Christ Church, starting at 7pm, and is in support of Bobath, a children’s therapy centre.  We will have a small orchestra, a vocal ensemble, string quartet, and a number of soloists.  A wonderfully enjoyable concert.  Tickets, just £1 for children (including a free drink) and £8 for adults, are available from Nick Hawkins, 029 2084 2561, Allan Cook, 029 2084 3176, the Primary Schools, Churchwardens, and ener-chi (in Station Road, Radyr).

Shoebox Sunday

Samaritan's PurseOur annual Shoebox Sunday services will be held on Sunday 17 November 2019. Prepare your gifts for Operation Christmas Child. Empty “Shoeboxes” for packing are available in each church.

Get Ready for Christmas

Red Star decorationChrist Church hosts our annual fair of gifts, food and entertainment to “Get ready for Christmas”.
Christmas crafts, gifts, raffle, tombola, festive food and drink with entertainment for those small and tall.

Official start 11.00 on Saturday 23 November

Please bring any donations for our stall over on the Friday night whilst we are preparing the hall for the event.

Advent Carols

Sunday 1 December at 18.00 in Christ Church sees our service of Advent Carols. A reflective service of readings and Advent Carols as the church beings the time of preparation leading up to Christmas.

Cartoon Christmas TreeChristmas Tree Festival

Starting on Sunday 15 December at Christ Church, Radyr the 2019 Christmas Tree Festival will start with the Christingle Service at 17.00.

Come and see the Christmas Trees decorated by groups from across the Parish.

From 16 to 24 December Christ Church will be open from 10.30 – 12.00 and 15.30 – 18.00 each day (except Sunday when we will have the usual services and be open for a short time around each of these to browse the trees)
