Christ Church Sunday Club
We’d love you to come along & join in the fun learning about how much Jesus loves us. We meet every Sunday in term time at 11am for an hour (Term-time only).
Your children are welcome either to sit with you or to join the other children and leaders at the front of
church until we go through into the hall following the first hymn. Once in Sunday Club we join
together in a game or activity before splitting up into groups to listen to Bible stories, prayers and take
part in activities – crafts, collages, cooking, games, & puzzles.
Sunday Club return to the service during the Offertory hymn – when the collection is taken. The
children will come to sit with you for the remainder of the service. Towards the end of the service the
children get an opportunity to ‘Show & Tell’ what they did in Sunday Club.
We currently have three classes:
- Reception – Year 2,
- Years 3 – 5,
- Years 6 – 9.
Pre-school children will stay with their parents in church. They will be able to play quietly with
toys & books in the Lady Chapel – whilst their parents supervise them, enabling parents to be
able to take part in and enjoy the service.
All the adult helpers at Sunday School have a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance. Julie Davies (Sunday Club Co-ordinator), Ceri Thomas (Safeguarding Officer) and the Vicar can be contacted if there are any matters of concern over safeguarding. The Parish Safeguarding Policy is displayed on the notice board in the corridor between the New School Rooms and the Church.
The children help to lead the worship for celebrations such as Harvest Festival, Christmas Eve and Mothering Sunday.
You are all most welcome to stay to coffee which is served following the service each week. As hot
drinks and children do not mix, the children’s drinks and biscuits are served on a table well away from
the serving hatch.

St John’s Sunday School
St John’s Sunday School meets in the Hall next to the church at 9.15 every Sunday morning, except for the first Sunday in each month when there is a special family service in St John’s Church.
Children do and make a variety of things in Sunday School and “report back” to the congregation what they have done when they rejoin the main service. The notice boards display their work, and the children help decorate the church hall at special times such as Christmas.
Children from St John’s and Christ Church regularly come together at times like the Summer and Christmas fun days.
it would be lovely to see even more new faces in Sunday School. For more information contact
