Christ Church Sunday School prize giving 2017

We’d love you to come along & join in the fun learning about how much Jesus loves us. We meet every Sunday in term time at 11am for an hour.

We currently have three classes for children age 4-11. Our Whatever! group for young people aged 11+ meets separately on the evening of the first Sunday of the month.

We do not currently have an active Crèche however, accompanied pre-school children are most welcome to join class one or simply take advantage of the toys available in the Lady Chapel during worship.

Sunday School sit at the front of Church, however your children are more than welcome to sit with you until we all go through into the hall at the end of singing the Gloria. Once in Sunday School we join together to sing & pray. Afterwards the children split up into groups to listen to Bible stories and take part in activities: crafts, collages, games, & puzzles. The Sunday School returns for Communion or a Blessing and the final part of the service, when the children get an opportunity to ‘Show & Tell’ what they have learnt and made.

All the adult helpers at Sunday School have a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.

The children help to lead the worship for celebrations such as Harvest Festival, Christmas Eve and Mothering Sunday.

St John’s Sunday School

Roar-some work from St John’s Sunday School – we are all children of God’s creation

St John’s Sunday School meets in the Hall next to the church at 9.15 every Sunday morning, except for the first Sunday in each month when there is a special family service in St John’s Church.

Children do and make a variety of things in Sunday School and “report back” to the congregation what they have done when they rejoin the main service. The notice boards display their work, and the children help decorate the church hall at special times such as Christmas.

Children from St John’s and Christ Church regularly come together at times like the Summer and Christmas fun days.

it would be lovely to see even more new faces in Sunday School. For more information contact
