Scout Post sorting

Radyr Scouts are also looking for volunteers to help sort the Christmas mail. They are meeting every day to Friday 6 December at 10am in the Scout hall. Can you spare some time to help?

HGVs in Heol Isaf

Please see statement from Plasdŵr regarding the action they are taking to stop HGVs using Heol Isaf.  To report the licence plate number of an HGV in Heol Isaf use getintouch@plasdwr.co.uk , giving the time and date spotted, the name on the vehicle and the location. They will check it against their list of expected vehicles on the Plasdwr site.  To report the registration number of any CEMEX HGV which is driven through Radyr, email planninggb@cemex.com.

Free library service for the housebound

R&M Alzheimer’s Group Coin Collection

Radyr Library has a collection bucket for any spare foreign coins which go towards the support of Alzheimers.

R&MCC 50+ Lunch Club

Here’s an opportunity to make new friends, listen to a guest speaker and enjoy a great lunch (with tea and biscuits) in the spectacular surroundings of the Radyr Golf Club – for just £6 per session. The club usually meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month (except August), between 12.00pm and 2.00pm. Full details from the Community Council

Dog Poo

Road safety response from R&MCC

R&M Road Safety Works

Cardiff Council have published a map of the intended road safety works that are planned along Heol Isaf and elsewhere as a result of the building of new houses in North West Cardiff.  You can access it here.

Radyr Quarry

Have you ever been intrigued by the red ‘pudding stone’ to be seen on walls and buildings in Radyr & Morganstown, and which comes from the long-disused Radyr Quarry?   It was in use for about 70 years, and produced one of the most recognisable building stones used locally.  Read more about it here.
