The new lunch club at Radyr Golf Club continues to grow. It provides a valuable opportunity for a wide range of people to enjoy the company of others, make new friends – and enjoy a great lunch.
Each lunch is followed by the opportunity to listen to a guest speaker. Past speakers have discussed topics as varied as constructing the Cardiff Barrage, life in Uganda, how Cardiff deals with its refuse, sea-shanties, Medieval Cardiff and surviving a torpedo attack during World War 2
The lunch club is open to anyone living in Radyr and Morganstown – and costs just £6 per session (which includes the lunch, speaker – and tea and biscuits). If you want to attend – or know someone who could use some company – please contact Radyr and Morganstown Community Council on: 02920842213 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
However – as the lunch club grows, we are very keen to hear from anyone who can help in any way. We need, for instance, people who can drive the more elderly club members (some of whom face mobility problems) from their homes to the club.
Helping our members can be a very rewarding experience – and will help ensure that every member of our community can benefit from the club.
The club meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, between 12.00 and 2.00pm. We currently have around 30 people attending – and we’re considering arranging more activities for them, such as day trips and a Christmas meal.
So please get in touch if you would like to join us for lunch – or if you would like to help.
