Teenagers playing with their balls in the street

1MikeRogers, Mon, 5 Jul 2010, 18:33:18
I am often disturbed when at home by loud teenagers roaming around the streets playing with balls. This does not bother me, but what does bother me is when they do it on either side of the road. Where am I supposed to walk? Their balls are going all over the place. It goes into peoples gardens and can hit cars - stationary or not stationary.
Can't they play with them in a designated area? Or are there none? I am aware of the Mound Field, but that has fencing restricting access.

I would not mind if they played with themselves in a park, but doing it in public streets? It is a danger to those who want to use the footpaths for walking!

"MT Park" has a designated ball playing area, I always see loads of teenagers playing there with their balls, usually leather but sometimes plastic.

Sometimes my neighbour & his son play ball games in our street.

What happened to the good old days of playing safely in your own back garden?
Is it a thrill seeking thing?

What joy it must be boasting to your chums how close your balls came to a motorvehicle, perambulator or bicycle.

Youngsters these days, huh.

I think the garden isn't a big enough space for people and their balls nowadays.
